Welcome to ArchitecturalArchives.pk, an open access resource for the study of architecture and its histories in Pakistan. There is currently no dedicated, publicly accessible archive that documents the breadth and diversity of architectural practice in Pakistan. This website explores what such an institution might look like, collating a series of ‘archiving tools’ for the use of students, teachers, historians and architects. Our efforts towards a polyvocal, collaborative history of architecture in Pakistan are also documented on our project's Instagram page.
The project’s first publication, The Time of Building: Kamil Khan Mumtaz and Architecture in Pakistan (Lahore: Folio Books, 2023), can be downloaded for free on our Publications page.
